Cedros Salt Works

Although fishing used to be the lifeblood of Cedros, the huge salt handling facility at the southeast corner of the island provides most of the income to the locals. Salt is barged from Guerrero Negro on the mainland to the deep water port on Cedros. As well as hauling the salt to market, the huge Japanese cargo ships were a source of inexpensive Japanese imports, especially electronics.
